Winter is the best time to make memories! How to enjoy a winter trip to Takayama with your dog

Even in winter, Takayama is all about dogs!

Nestled in the mountains of Takayama, 1,300 meters above sea level in Gifu prefecture, our hotel is covered with snow in winter. We would like to introduce you to a way of spending your trip where you can enjoy "time together" with your dog, rather than visiting tourist attractions.

🐕 Run to your heart's content at Japan's leading "snow dog park"

There are two dog parks on the premises. In winter, they are covered in snow and transformed into "snow dog parks." As they can enjoy the snow to their heart's content, the proportion of large dogs staying at the park increases. Watching them running through the snow is a winter memory that can only be seen here.

♨️ A private hot spring where you can bathe with your dog, perfect for winter

We have two special baths available for you to bathe in with your dog (fees apply). They are equipped with a bathtub and amenities just for dogs. As they are completely private, you can relax without worrying about others around you.

🌲 Take a walk around the grounds surrounded by snowy scenery

The hotel grounds are approximately 33,000 square meters and feature a 700-meter nature trail. The clear morning air and snowy scenery are exceptional.

🐕 Indoor play space that's safe in any weather

The facility is equipped with an indoor play space that can be used off-leash, so you can rest assured even on snowy or bad weather days. It's also a great place to interact with your dog.

We also provide warming items such as hot water bottles and outdoor coats to help you cope with the cold during your stay! You can also reserve the Hida Takayama Hot Springs, which is made from melted snow from the Northern Alps. Stay warm even in the cold.

To make your stay even more comfortable, we are gradually renovating the interiors of our guest rooms and facilities starting in December 2025. Make your winter trip with your dog a wonderful memory. Don't miss this opportunity to visit Takayama.
